The glory and the presence of God covers the whole earth and the heavens as, indeed, heaven is His throne and earth His footstool (Isaiah 66:1) However, if one wishes to pray and commune with God in a peaceful sanctuary where God is the sole object of one’s concentration, then a serene, natural grove or an empty, quiet room where one is unlikely to be interrupted is appropriate.
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matt 6:6)
The Kapondo Christian Centre is situated in the middle of twenty-acres of a managed pine tree forest on the top of a hill overlooking Lake Victoria, Uganda. The grounds are covered with dry and crunchy pine leaves, and the air is filled with cool and gentle breeze and continuous chirping of birds and crickets, offering a soothing environment for spiritual communion, introspection and reflection.
The Centre is equipped with adequate infrastructure, equipment, systems, and procedures. The chapel, dormitories, kitchens and dining facilities, offices, and staff quarters offer adequate facilities for the Centre’s activities. The grounds offer patrons wishing to pitch and live in tents, quiet and private options. The prayer path around the hill provides quiet spots suitable for fully focused worship.
