Governance
The KCC is registered as a company “limited by guarantee” under the Uganda’s Companies Act. It has a general assembly made up of the founding members and adopted stakeholders. It is run by a board directors appointed by the general assembly. The board appoints a management team that is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Centre.
The centre has established and maintains policies, systems, and procedures to ensure that it operates in compliance with national and local legal and regulatory requirements. These policies guide all aspects of the Centre’s business. Each policy statement provides information on authority required, boundaries set, and responsibilities delegated.
Corporate Governance Policy: All our members, board and eexecutives are committed to the promotion of Good Corporate Governance as well as being committed to creating long-term, value-added impact on our stakeholders.
Health, Safety, Security & Environmental Policy: This policy provides for a safe and healthy work environment for all our colleagues, patrons, contractors, and affected third parties. We are committed to performing all business activities in a safe and efficient manner and to prevent all accidents, injuries and occupational illness and to protect the environment
Finance policy: This policy provides guidance for creating the budget, opening bank accounts, managing transactions, record keeping, audit, and other aspects of financial management; and orient leaders on the required procedures and expectations.
Anti-corruption Policy: Anyone operating on our behalf is not permitted to compromise this policy. Our actions are therefore founded on honesty, integrity, respect, and conformity with all applicable laws, particularly those laws that prevent corruption.
Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy: We are dedicated to creating a work environment that is free from any form of discrimination or harassment towards our employees. We uphold a non-discriminatory policy towards all, which prohibits any discrimination or harassment based on factors such as race, ethnicity, religion, colour, -gender, age, national origin, disability, ancestry, pregnancy, or any other factors prohibited by law.
